Introduction to Stop Motion Animation

Stop motion animation is a fun and versatile medium that can be found in music videos, feature films, advertising, and instagram videos. The possibilities are endless. It is also a painstaking medium, with few shortcuts, that requires a lot of patience. With so many other options (live action, CG, digital animation) that are faster and cheaper, why is stop motion still around? Why do we still love it so much? 

In this intro to stop motion workshop, we’ll be talking about the appeal of stop motion through examples, followed by a demonstration of techniques you could use at home. This class will be taught by freelance stop-motion animator, Aarica North.
